As you already know there are two ways to download a paying application from the AppStore: Either you buy it, or you acquire a promo code - which is basically a unique ID code - with which you can get the app „ like a present” – for free. Yesterday I found a website, where – after a simple (and short) – registration you have the opportunity to download a new app or one that’s on „sale”, for free.

Even though the website is currently in beta 2.0 testing phase, you can register calmly. You recieve the codes through e-Mail. They give out dozens of codes every day. It is worth a try, especially if you have a favourite program in particular. The ammount of distributable promo codes depends of course on the developers, but if you are lucky you can try many little apps.

Before you start downloading anything, it is wise to read the app descriptions and screenplans first, since next to the quality applications a lot of low end apps are present.

Update #1: It turns out that Promo Dispenser is being developed by HUNGARIANS, here's part of an eMail we've received today:

"... My name's Attila and I've found your post about promodispenser. Well, I created the site and you can actually access it in Hungarian too after registration. I'd like to point out that developers are also welcome to register and showcase their applications with no bureaucratic red tape.

Just register as a developer, upload info on the app and it's right on the list. Developers are able to monitor the usage of their codes real time, users are required to review and rate the apps and practice shows that at least 80% of them publish their opinion in iTunes too."

All I can say on my part is congrats :-)) this site is a cool idea!
